From AE Freemart “Chris Smith, one of Toolfarm Expert Forums Experts. Chris made some free tools for Cinema 4D called CSTools.”

There are some useful and free movie camera tools / xpresso setups for Cinema 4D.
Really useful for movie style camera drives with crane style cameras, chase
cameras etc. Really worth checking out.

Retargetting bones can be very difficult without this plugin. For example if you work with lot of motion capture files which you want to transfer into a static bones structure.

If you´re an ex 3ds max user and moved into Cinema 4D you could sometimes
have a nostalgy with teapot object. This is a real plugin object for Cinema 4D
that generates a teapot just like in 3ds max. You can for example control
the subdivision amount, take of the lid, take off the body etc.

Bodypaint 3d is a full scale texturing application integrated into cinema 4d. In older versions like rel 9 you could install it as a standalone version. It can be used as a standalone with other 3d applications like Max or Maya too.

The real power of Bodypaint is the ability to use Photoshop brushes and paint directly onto the geometry.
However if you want to make proper displacement painting then you should make displacement maps in some special application like Zbrush, Silo or Mudbox.

UV maps

Bodypaint is also a special tool for making uvmaps and has got great wizard tool for quick map generation. One should still know how to use projection types. Alternative tools for uvmap generating is Topogun.

I stumbled upon to this open source plugin page. The bridge between Archicad and Cinema 4D was discontinued after rel 11 which was kind of a result from some compability issues. I believe Maxon will update this but meanwhile one can seek some good alternative and free file transfer bridge for Archicad to Cinema 4D.
Minimum version of Archicad you will need is 12 and Cinema 4D r 10.5.

News – 1st of Feb. 2010

Starting from 2nd of february 2010 I will be employed by Micro Aided Design, distributor of Cinema 4D in Finland.
Therefore all reselling of Maxon Cinema 4D products through my company Kraphik 3D will be discontinued.
All previous Cinema 4D customer contacts will be transferred to M.A.D. where I will be working with Cinema 4D sales, teaching and customer support.

Couple of years back I was a big fan of Pimp my Ride tv series. Of course I still am but nowadays much more a fan of 3d graphics and Cinema 4D. I found the site called yodawgyo.com which had full of jokes from the original “Sup Dawg”. I got this funny idea. For a non 3d artist it might sound terrible but I find it very funny as I am a 3d geek.

This is a parody of the Avatar poster. The original movie is created by James Cameron who is also the director of Titanic movie. In finnish language Ahven means a perch which is a fish. The idea just struck me one day and this is the result. I had previously modeled a fishman face with Cinema 4D in 2008 and I modified it quite a bit to make the Ahven poster version. The changes were the new eyes and nose. Currently I am working with the new skin shader. The skin texture you can see in poster
is version 1.
The new skin shader in model v2 picture. I think the latest version will be much better with Sub surface scattering and better skin pores. I´m not sure if it would look
even better with some gills on the side. Of course because it´s half a fish and half a human.
