I saw this blog post in Grayscalegorilla but did not watch the full tutorial but got an inspiration to make a rendering with my own materials and light setup. I was not fully convinced of Nick´s approach with his use of textures from texture kit so I
tried my make this project by using my own car metal shaders combined with few metal and scratched metal bitmaps. Lighting can be done with basic lighting skills for a project such as this and there´s necessarily not any need for an external lighting kit or texture kit. Often presets will save time but are not a best approach for your own creativity.
For bitmaps I used sites such as cgtextures.com and Free seamless textures.
