Kraphik 3D to represent Craft Animations in Finland
Craft Animations announces a key strategic partnership with Kraphik 3D for resale of world-renowned Craft Director Studio.

“We are excited to be represented by one of Cinema 4D’s leading resellers in Finland.” says Craft Animations CEO Deborah Lygonis. “Cinema 4D is shaking up the 3D world, which is why we recently made Craft Director Studio compatible with it, alongside Autodesk’s 3ds Max, Maya and Softimage.”

Game developers use Craft Director Studio for their cut-scene animation because Craft Director Studio automates the animation of both vehicles and cameras in the 3D environment.
Craft Director Studio is well known in the games industry, being used by such customers as Namco Bandai Games in the cut-scene animations of their latest game Tekken 6.

Hiroyuki Shirai, Animator, Computer Graphic Motion Department, Contents Production Group of NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc. explains that the methods for generating motion which they have used in the past have had great restrictions.
One example is motion capture; it is difficult to use motion capture when the scale of the scene constantly changes. For instance, a camera enters into the car that is driving recklessly at high speeds.
Or think of the scene where a character enters from far-off on a motorcycle, approaches the camera, and then leaves again. Mr Shirai explains that his team was given a greater power of persuasion with the greater degree of freedom that CDS offered.
Not only would the alternatives have meant they would have to collect a prohibitive amount of data, but they would have been restricted in their creative process, not being able to create all the affects they had wanted.
